 cuses on student development via experiential learning. This initiative in
 cludes: 1) &nbsp\;Cultural Trips\, 2) Ancestry Project/Speech Contest\, an
 d 3) Black History Month programming. This initiative originated from a st
 rategic plan objective to create a high-impact practice benefiting student
  development related to the African Diaspora. &nbsp\;

\nWe look forward
  to taking a delegation of our members to attend the annual conference tha
 t was started by our committee's namesake - Dr. Carter G. Woodson.&nbsp\; 
 The 110th Annual Conference of Association for the Study of African Americ
 an Life &amp\; History (ASALH) was established on September 9\, 1915\, by 
 Dr. Carter G. Woodson\, Founder of Black History Month. The vision of ASAL
 H is to be the premier Black Heritage-learned society with a strong networ
 k of national and international branches and partners whose diverse and in
 clusive membership will continue the Woodson legacy. Consistent with MSC W
 BAC’s purpose for the Texas A&amp\;M community\, ASALH’s mission is to
  promote\, research\, preserve\, interpret and disseminate information abo
 ut Black life\, history and culture to the global community.&nbsp\;
