Description
The Ukrainian Club at TAMU is proud to introduce a new European-style roasted coffee, Kavka Coffee, to the BCS community. Please join us for our event, “Plants and Coffee for a Cause,” on June 14, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Plants are locally grown at “Planting Victory Garden” in the residence's backyard. This propagation project was initiated after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and since then, it has gained popularity among local plant lovers, students, faculty, and staff.
We would like to treat guests who purchase THREE or more plants with a free cup of Kavka Coffee. Come and enjoy the new to BCS European style Kavka coffee - from the Soul of Ukraine, Roasted on the Coast of Maine.
“Kavka” is the diminutive form of the word “coffee” in Ukrainian. It’s what Isakov’s great-grandmother used to call it. Kavka coffee brand shares the Ukrainian story with Americans through a unique and excellent cup of coffee. This endeavor also aims to generate funds to support those in great need in Ukraine, with a profit share from each bag sold going towards providing essential aid.
Ukrainian Club TAMU is immensely grateful to our longtime friends Fernando and Gabriella Vasquez, owners of the “La Gabriella Coffeeshop & Pastries”, located at 109 Walton Dr., College Station, TX
We would love for you to stop at “La Gabriella Coffeeshop & Pastries” at our event on June 14, “Plants and Coffee for a Cause”, where you will also find wide selection of Art Cards and Artistic canvas (works of Oksana Lupych, Ukrainian artist based in Kyiv) and some crafts.
All proceeds from this event will be matched and sent to the nonprofit "United Hearts" for urgent projects.
Only with the continuous support of our local community we can show our camaraderie in action to all Ukrainians, defending their country's existence.
Ukrainian Club
The Ukrainian Club is a community that values freedom, cultural diversity, and empathy. Whether you follow Ukraine on the news because of the war, or would like to learn more about this country at the center of Europe, its rich culture, history, and freedom-loving people, our Club is the right place for you!
Alongside raising awareness about the military invasion of Ukraine and the suffering the Ukrainian people endure, we also present the other side of Ukraine with its creativity, long-standing traditions, delicious national cuisine, eye-catching art, and beautiful music from rock to folklore & classical. Over the last two years, the Club organized multiple socials, bake sales, fundraising events, concerts, documentary screenings, and Easter egg-painting workshops.
The Club is open to new ideas, contributions, and initiatives. We welcome everyone curious about other cultures, languages, or who is just looking for a supportive and sincere community.
