Description

Join the Ukrainian Club at Texas A&M for our Bake & Craft Sale on September 16–17 from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM in the MSC 12th Man Hall! 💙💛
Our beneficiary this year is a HopeRaising Expedition In Ukraine, by Jacob Kepka - one bike, one pedal, 2,136 km in 46 days!
Jakob is a USA Marine veteran, a Canadian citizen of Polish origin, an above-knee amputee, and a cancer survivor! He turned 70 yo a couple of days ago!

I’m not afraid of Russians or drones. I’m afraid of not finishing the ride,” says Canadian veteran Jakob Kepka. Jakob has set out on a 2,100-kilometer cycling journey across Ukraine to raise money for prosthetics for Ukrainian soldiers who have lost limbs. But there’s one detail that makes his journey even more remarkable: Jakob is riding the entire distance on just ONE LEG. A knee injury he suffered during his time in the U.S. Marine Corps eventually led to an amputation. But instead of letting it break him, Jakob turned his setback into a mission to help others.— with Jakob Kepka in Toronto, Canada.

The Expedition is organized, sponsored, and now coordinated by Elevate Ukraine- a local nonprofit!
All proceeds from the Bake Sake will go to prosthetics projects and reintegration support for Ukrainian war veterans with amputations!

Ukrainian Club

The Ukrainian Club is a community that values freedom, cultural diversity, and empathy. Whether you follow Ukraine on the news because of the war, or would like to learn more about this country at the center of Europe, its rich culture, history, and freedom-loving people, our Club is the right place for you!

Alongside raising awareness about the military invasion of Ukraine and the suffering the Ukrainian people endure, we also present the other side of Ukraine with its creativity, long-standing traditions, delicious national cuisine, eye-catching art, and beautiful music from rock to folklore & classical. Over the last two years, the Club organized multiple socials, bake sales, fundraising events, concerts, documentary screenings, and Easter egg-painting workshops.

The Club is open to new ideas, contributions, and initiatives. We welcome everyone curious about other cultures, languages, or who is just looking for a supportive and sincere community.
