Aggie Transition Camps (ATC) is a sponsored student organization that is responsible for successfully transitioning new Aggies to Texas A&M University through two programs: Howdy Camp that takes place every January, and T-Camp that takes place every August.

Aggie Transition Camps will be operated with 6 Chairs who will be placed in partnerships to lead an Individual Camp or Team for their assigned session. The job of a Chairperson is to plan, coordinate, and oversee all Individual-Camp (IC)/Team activities leading up to, during, and after camp. Chairpersons will recruit, select, and train a group of Counselors/Teamers that will execute camp programs. Along with training, Chairs will also work with the Director Staff with assisting All-Camp meetings/times, carry down information regarding ATC Policies and Procedures, as well as uphold Texas A&M University Student Rules and Regulations within their camps.

For many incoming students, an Aggie Transition Camps’ program will be their first impression of the Aggie Family. The job of those involved in ATC is to welcome incoming students to Texas A&M and aid in their transition. Co-Chairs will make the camper's Aggie Transition Camps experience successful and positive through thoughtful leadership, dedication, commitment, and teamwork. This commitment will be filled with successes and challenges, and it will provide many opportunities for learning and growth as a person and a leader.

As we navigate a new year with Aggie Transition Camps, the ideal candidates for our Chair positions are those who are confident in executing new ideas and directives carried down from the Executive Director and Assistant Directors, welcome and navigate change gracefully, and can assist in commanding a team of leaders who will be charged with a new sense of responsibility as they all enter middle leadership roles within the organization.

Mandatory Dates and Meetings

NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list of all activities for Howdy Camp 2026, and dates are subject to change at time. Other meetings may be called by the ATC Executive Director, ATC Director Staff, Advisors, and/or Student Activities Department Staff.

• Howdy Camp Chair Informational - Sept. 22 at 7:00pm (Location TBD)
• Howdy Camp Chair Selections - Late-September to Early October
• Howdy Camp Chair Retreat - Immediately following selections (Early to Mid-October)
• Howdy Camp Chair Meetings (Weekly, Monday's at 6:30pm, locations will vary) - September-December
• Howdy Camp Counselor/Teamer Informational - Mid-October
• Howdy Camp Counselor/Teamer Selections - Mid to Late October
• Howdy Camp, All-Camp Meetings (Weekly, tentatively Wednesday's; time TBD, locations will vary) - Late October-December
• Howdy Camp Staycation/Road Trip - November
• Howdy Camp Work Weekends (Tentatively 1-2, dates TBD, locations will vary) - November and December
• Howdy Camp 2026 (Prep Week, Skit Review, AC Refresher/Day 0, Camp, and Post-Ops) - Early January; all dates tentative within the date range of January 2-11, 2026
• Howdy Camp 2026 Continuity (All-Camp and Individual Camp) - Throughout the Spring 2026 semester

By filling out and submitting this application you agree to be in attendance for all mandatory dates and, if necessary, communicate all conflicts to the ATC Advisors, Executive Director, and fellow Assistant Directors if unable to attend. By signing, I am aware of and agree to these dates, any potential scheduling changes, and to communicate any conflicts.
