SAVE THE DATE - LEADERSHIP TRANSITION WORKDAY
- This will be a day that all incoming leaders will work directly with the outgoing leader to plan events for 2-26-27 school year
- Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 10 AM - 6 PM in MSC 2240 - Bailey Conference Room
- Snacks and Lunch Provided
Vice Chair Recruitment & Retention / The Village
- Recruitment: Plan/Facilitate Informationals, MSC Programs Howdy Week (fall) & MSC Open House (spring) participation
- Retention: Plan/Facilitate points system, socials, and end of the year banquet.
- Professional Development: Plan/Facilitate retreats / workdays, GCM meetings and participation in FLC, MSCC Leadership Launch and MSCC Leadership Refresher
- Supervises/Directs The Village subcommittee to accomplish the above.
POSITION ALREADY FILLED - Vice Chair Development & Public Relations / Ujima
- Treasurer: Acts as banker and accountant for committee.
- Grant Writing: Ensures that grants are received to fund all programming.
- Former Students: Secures in-person participation and financial support for all programming.
- MLK Breakfast Partners: Garners Campus and Business partners to cover all expenses.
- Social Media: Engages actively and proactively on all of our social media platforms, ensuring that we are following trends and gaining followers.
- Supervises/Directs Ujima subcommittee to accomplish the above.
Minimum Requirements
- No leadership experience needed, just a willingness to learn.
- Commit seven (7) hours per week to position and associated responsibilities.
- Demonstrate good communication skills (written and verbal).
Expectations of All Leadership Positions
- Understands/Implements MSC policies and procedures
- Have a clear understanding of your assigned tasks
- Be well prepared and punctual for all meetings and events
- Be willing to ask questions and provide feedback
- Have the ability to articulate information when attending events with learning opportunities
- Be respectful of others and remain on task
- Engage general committee members throughout academic year
- Inform Chair and/or Advisor of additional priorities that may interfere MSC WBAC commitments in a timely and professional manner
- Be open to receive/provide constructive criticism from/to your peers
- Contribute to growth of fellow staff members and their programs
- Contribute to the overall growth and well being of the MSC WBAC
