General Position Summary
There are four (4) Director positions responsible for planning and facilitating programs in the following areas: NOTE: For full position descriptions - click here. NOTE: THERE ARE ADJUSTMENTS MADE TO JOB DESCRIPTION PROGRAMMING EACH YEAR BASED ON APPROVED FISCAL YEAR BUDGET.
Position | Overview | Programs |
Diaspora Education Director | Educates on Black history and matters involving the vast culture and people of the African Diaspora. |

MLK Holiday/Special Projects Director | Facilitates the commemoration of the federal holiday for Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to honor his legacy while fostering a campus environment that fulfills Dr. King’s inclusive dream for America; also facilitates special projects as assigned. |

The Village Director | Embodies the African proverb that it takes a village to raise a child, it is our intent to raise awareness that enhances student development. |
|
Ujima Director | Serves to actualize the principles of collective work and responsibility by building and maintaining strong relationships with the campus community through viable co-programming. |

Minimum Requirements
- No leadership experience needed, just a willingness to learn.
- Commit 5 hours per week to position and associated responsibilities.
- Demonstrate good communication skills (written and verbal).
Expectations of All Leadership Positions
- Understands/Implements MSC policies and procedures
- Have a clear understanding of your assigned tasks
- Be well prepared and punctual for all meetings and events
- Be willing to ask questions and provide feedback
- Have the ability to articulate information when attending events with learning opportunities
- Be respectful of others and remain on task
- Engage general committee members throughout academic year
- Inform Chair and/or Advisor of additional priorities that may interfere MSC WBAC commitments in a timely and professional manner
- Be open to receive/provide constructive criticism from/to your peers
- Contribute to growth of fellow staff members and their programs
- Contribute to the overall growth and well being of the MSC WBAC
