Vice President of Programs
General summary of this position:
The Vice Presidents of Programs shall facilitate the review process of MSCC committees’ programs and speakers. Subsequently, they shall calendar, coordinate, and evaluate all MSC programs and shall chair the Program Assembly meetings as directed by the EVP of Programs. These officers shall also perform other duties as assigned by the MSCC President and EVP of Programs.
Minimum Requirement: One year of MSCC Leadership experience or equivalent.

Overall responsibilities and expectations:
- Create agenda for and lead program approval body consisting of committee chairs
- Review program proposals using the Program Decision Rubric as the standard of proposal excellence
- Correspond with chairs and advisors regarding program and evaluation submissions
- Review and evaluate program proposals, evaluations, and speaker approval forms
- Track programming metrics; analyze metrics for trends, potential issues, etc. with the Programs Team
- Evaluate semesterly program survey for recommendations to improve the program proposal process
- Maintain consistent communications with advisors and committee chairs
- Assist in the selection process for the next VPs of Programs, and other organization officers as needed
- Positive attitude, knowledge of (or the ability to learn) MSC programming policies and procedures and GetInvolved, ability to effectively lead meetings, consistency in applying organizations rules, and excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential to success in this position
- Evaluate and educate on campus and community climate to keep programmers informed
- Represent your PA at various campus programming meetings
Overall responsibilities and expectations of Vice President of Program Assessment (1 position):
- Evaluate and review program metrics and evaluations
- Track programming metrics; analyze metrics for trends, potential issues, etc. with the Programs Team
- Be a liaison between the Programs Team and Assessment Resource Director in assigning and completing assessment projects relative to program tracking and evaluations
- Keep the Programs Team up to date with evaluation progress from the Assessments Team
- Coordinate the review of Committee Health Report and creating the Committee Health Report Executive Summary with the Executive Vice President of Programs
- Evaluate semesterly program survey for recommendations to improve the program proposal process
- Maintain consistent communications with advisors and committee chairs
- Assist in the selection process for the next VPs of Programs, and other organization officers as needed

Required MSC Council Officer Responsibilities:
- Represent the MSC Council: As a student leader in the MSC Council, your actions are a direct reflection and representation of the organization and our values. Committee Chairs have the responsibility of directing their committee’s programs and goals to ensure alignment with those of the MSC Council.
- Alignment with the MSC Programs mission: MSC Programs will prioritize support for programs, experiences, and student leadership opportunities that reflect and align with its mission of engaging students in providing purposefully designed campus programs and service opportunities that prepare them to be global leaders.
- Attend Weekly Monday Night Meetings: When creating your academic schedule, please be mindful of your requirement to attend Program Assembly meetings every Monday night at 6pm.
- Complete the full Academic Year: MSC Officer positions are meant to be performed for the full academic year including the Summer.
- Attend Leadership Launch (& August Leadership Refresher): Every spring, the MSC hosts Leadership Launch in order to assist with the transition of new leaders.
- Understand the Student-Staff Partnership: Each committee is assigned an advisor by MSC Programs. Through that advisor, MSC Programs and the MSC Council are committed to strong student/staff partnerships and built upon the idea that there is mutuality in teaching and learning and that advisors and students see each other as a resource; each group offering what it uniquely can provide.
