General Position Summary for VP of Finance (VPF)
The VP of Finance oversees all duties related to money for the MSC Council. The VP of Finance serves as the official treasurer for the MSCC RSO and manages all the budgets for the MSCC E-Team. The VP of Finance also looks to provide funding opportunities to the MSCC (including merchandise, profit shares, etc.). Furthermore, the VP of Finance assists MSC Committees in their financial efforts by understanding SOFC policies and assisting the EVPB in larger MSCC projects (including grant writing workshops, development workshops, etc.). Finally, the VP of Finance schedules an annual check-in with each MSC Committee to discuss their administrative and program budgets.
General summary for VP of Former Student Relations (VPFSR)
The VP of Former Student Relations oversees all duties related to connecting with former MSCC students for the MSC Council. The VP of Former Student Relations and their team assists with any related efforts put on by the MSC Programs department (tailgate, luncheons, etc.) to the department’s discretion. The VP of Former Student Relations also works with the Diversity team and Association of Former Students to transfer our current student records into former student records that can be leveraged by committees during their individualized development efforts. Furthermore, the VP of Former Student Relations assists the EVPB in larger MSCC projects (including thank you card templates, newsletter templates, development workshops etc.). Finally, the VP of Former Student Relations spearheads new programs that leverage former student interaction, such as mentorship programs.
General Position Summary for Marketing (VPM)
The VP of Marketing oversees all duties related to marketing the MSC Council. The VP of Marketing will oversee all MSCC social media accounts. The VP of Marketing will also work on MSCC projects that require a marketing focus (MSC Commercials, Annual Report, etc.). The VP of Marketing will also assist committee marketing efforts through training / resources and distributing any MSCC brand regulations.
Minimum Requirement: One year of MSC Leadership experience or equivalent.

Required MSC Council Officer Responsibilities:
- Represent the MSC Council: As a student leader in the MSC Council, your actions are a direct reflection and representation of the organization and our values. Committee Chairs have the responsibility of directing their committee’s programs and goals to ensure alignment with those of the MSC Council.
- Alignment with the MSC Programs mission: MSC Programs will prioritize support for programs, experiences, and student leadership opportunities that reflect and align with its mission of engaging students in providing purposefully designed campus programs and service opportunities that prepare them to be global leaders.
- Attend Weekly Monday Night Meetings: When creating your academic schedule, please be mindful of your requirement to attend Program Assembly meetings every Monday night at 6pm.
- Complete the full Academic Year: MSC Officer positions are meant to be performed for the full academic year including the Summer.
- Attend Leadership Launch (& August Leadership Refresher): Every spring, the MSC hosts Leadership Launch in order to assist with the transition of new leaders.
- Understand the Student-Staff Partnership: Each committee is assigned an advisor by MSC Programs. Through that advisor, MSC Programs and the MSC Council are committed to strong student/staff partnerships and built upon the idea that there is mutuality in teaching and learning and that advisors and students see each other as a resource; each group offering what it uniquely can provide.
