Residential Housing Association
Live Here. Lead Here. Thrive Here.
The Residential Housing Association (RHA) at Texas A&M University serves as the official representative body for all on-campus residents, encompassing over 12,000 students. As a student-led organization, RHA is dedicated to enhancing the residential experience through leadership development, community programming, advocacy, and campus-wide engagement.
RHA plays a pivotal role in shaping the quality of life in university housing through its Community Councils. RHA provides a platform for student voices by the councils in each hall/apartment to inform and influence decisions related to housing policies, facility improvements, campus dining, transportation, recreation, and student well-being. The organization also works in partnership with university leadership to sponsor and support legislation aimed at improving the student experience.
Whether you are beginning your undergraduate journey or approaching graduation, RHA is committed to helping students create meaningful experiences, build lasting connections, and contribute positively to campus life.
Benefits of Involvement
Students who engage with RHA develop valuable skills and experiences that extend beyond on-campus housing. Participation in RHA offers opportunities to:
Represent your residential community and contribute to its growth and development.
Influence university operations and services through formal feedback and advocacy initiatives.
Plan and implement impactful programming, including educational, social, wellness, and cultural events.
Develop leadership and professional competencies in public speaking, event coordination, governance, and strategic communication.
Network with peers and professionals through local, regional, and national leadership conferences.
Gain a deeper understanding of Residence Life and university resources through collaboration with staff, student leaders, and campus partners.
Getting Involved
RHA operates in partnership with individual Community Councils, which represent each residence hall and apartment community. All on-campus residents are invited to apply to their respective Community Councils.
To get involved:
Join your Community Council at the start of the academic year.
Look for postings or communications regarding elections, open positions, or hall programming opportunities.
