The Chair of Community Development supports and strengthens Community Councils by serving as a liaison between RHA and on-campus residential communities while fostering engagement, collaboration, and community pride.
WHAT YOU'LL DO?
- Support Community Councils by identifying needs and providing guidance, resources, and assistance.
- Serve as a liaison between RHA and on-campus residential communities.
- Track Community Council events, initiatives, and important dates.
- Encourage and support Community Council participation in RHA General Assemblies and Executive Sessions.
- Coordinate and administer War of the Halls, including rules, scoring, and point tracking.
- Collaborate with Executive Board members to address community-level concerns and initiatives.
- Uphold RHA expectations and contribute to a supportive and connected on-campus community.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Must be in good standing with Texas A&M University.
- Must live in on-campus housing for the duration of the executive term (August 2026 to April 2027).
- Must be able to allocate 5+ hours per week to RHA duties, including:
- RHA General Assemblies and Executive Board meetings held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- A minimum of one monthly hour-long or two biweekly 30-minute one-on-one meetings with assigned leadership.
- One hour of in-person office hours or one monthly committee meeting.
