The Chair of Advocacy and Policy represents on-campus residents by advocating for their needs, supporting RHA governance, and working with student and campus leaders to improve residential life.
WHAT YOU'LL DO?
- Advocate for the needs and concerns of on-campus residents.
- Work with the Student Government Association on policies affecting residence halls and apartments.
- Help guide RHA meetings by clarifying procedures and governance processes.
- Identify resident issues and develop action plans to address them.
- Represent RHA on campus committees related to transportation, dining, sustainability, and other residential services.
- Coordinate RHA election procedures and communicate expectations to candidates.
- Collaborate closely with Executive Board members and uphold RHA expectations.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Must be in good standing with Texas A&M University.
- Must live in on-campus housing for the duration of the executive term (August 2026 to April 2027).
- Must be able to allocate 5+ hours per week to RHA duties, including:
- RHA General Assemblies and Executive Board meetings held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- A minimum of one monthly hour-long or two biweekly 30-minute one-on-one meetings with assigned leadership.
- One hour of in-person office hours or one monthly committee meeting.
