Community Development Chair (In Training)
Position Overview: The Community Development Chair (In Training) will shadow the current Chair during the Fall semester, learning the responsibilities and duties of the role. The trainee will transition to the full-time Community Development Chair position in the Spring semester.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Executive Board to identify and address the needs of Community Councils.
- Serve as a liaison between the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and on-campus communities, offering guidance and support to Community Councils.
Event Coordination and Tracking:
- Keep a detailed record of all Community Councils' events and important dates.
- Ensure effective communication between Community Councils and the RHA.
Meeting Participation:
- Encourage and monitor attendance at General Assembly (GA) Meetings and Executive Sessions.
- Coordinate food decisions, collections, and payments for each GA meeting.
Communication and Relationship Building:
- Foster strong communication and relationships with board leadership through regular 1:1 meetings (either one hour monthly or two 30-minute sessions biweekly).
War of the Halls:
- Track and collect all necessary information for awarding points for the War of the Halls competition as outlined in Article VI, Section 7.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure inclusion on the SOFC Signature Card and adhere to all Executive Board member expectations as outlined in Article V, Section 1-1: General Expectations.
