Texas A&M University is proud to serve as the host institution for the NACURH 2026 Annual Conference, marking the first time in over a decade that we have welcomed the national residential leadership community to Aggieland. The NACURH (National Association of College and University Residence Halls) Annual Conference is the largest student-run conference in the world, drawing thousands of student leaders, advisors, and professionals from across North America to celebrate leadership, collaboration, and the advancement of the residential experience.
Hosting this conference is not only a historic milestone for our institution but also a significant opportunity to showcase our traditions, excellence, and innovation to a nationwide audience. For student leaders, serving on the NACURH 2026 Conference Team provides an unmatched opportunity to develop project management, communication, event planning, and professional leadership skills — all while contributing meaningfully to a high-impact, large-scale collegiate event.
Position: Spirit & Awards Chair
The Spirit and Awards Chair promotes enthusiasm and recognition throughout the NACURH 2026 Conference. This position oversees spirit competitions, award presentations, and the celebration of delegate accomplishments.
This role is ideal for someone with high energy, creativity, and a commitment to building community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and promote conference-wide spirit themes and competition rules.
- Coordinate roll call spirit points, banner contests, cheers, and other engagement activities.
- Collaborate with Programming and Entertainment Chairs on delegate interaction opportunities.
- Manage the nomination and selection process for conference awards.
- Organize and execute the awards ceremony during closing or regional gatherings.
- Work with Marketing to design award certificates and spirit promotional materials.
- Document spirit participation and highlight in post-conference recaps.
