Executive Vice President of Business

General summary of this position:

The Executive Vice President of Business shall coordinate the establishment of vision and recommendation of policies for administrative functions and committee development in the MSC Council and ensure the overall planning, coordination, and evaluation of all MSCC administrative areas (as defined in section 4 of this article). The Executive Vice President of Business shall oversee the VP of Finance, Former Student Relations, and Marketing, represent the administrative interests of the committees in the MSCC Executive Team, and represent these interests within the MSC Stakeholders. This officer shall also maintain the MSCC Constitution and MSCC Policy Guide, and serve as the MSCC's Parliamentarian. This officer shall also perform other duties as assigned by the MSCC President.

• Overseeing MSCC financial processes, development efforts, and maintaining the MSCC brand in conjunction with the MSCC Marketing Team.
• Co-managing MSC Consulting projects as they arise.
• Maintain relationships with the MSCC Officer Team, their advisors, and the staff of the Memorial Student Center
• Responsive to problems that arise in committees, specifically regarding administrative functions
• Represent the MSCC at various functions and events at Texas A&M as directed by the MSCC President.
• Update MSCC Constitution and By-laws as needed
• Support committees in maintaining their recognition status
   

Minimum Requirement: One year of MSC Leadership experience or equivalent.

Required MSC Officer Responsibilities:

• Represent the MSC Council:  As a student leader in the MSC Council, your actions are a direct reflection and representation of the organization and our values. Committee Chairs have the responsibility of directing their committee’s programs and goals to ensure alignment with those of the MSC Council.
• Alignment with the MSC Programs mission:  MSC Programs will prioritize support for programs, experiences, and student leadership opportunities that reflect and align with its mission of engaging students in providing purposefully designed campus programs and service opportunities that prepare them to be global leaders.
• Attend Weekly Monday Night Meetings: When creating your academic schedule, please be mindful of your requirement to attend Program Assembly meetings every Monday night at 6pm.
• Complete the full Academic Year: MSC Officer positions are meant to be performed for the full academic year including the Summer.
• Attend Leadership Launch (& August Leadership Refresher): Every spring, the MSC hosts Leadership Launch in order to assist with the transition of new leaders.
• Understand the Student-Staff Partnership: Each committee is assigned an advisor by MSC Programs. Through that advisor, MSC Programs and the MSC Council are committed to strong student/staff partnerships and built upon the idea that there is mutuality in teaching and learning and that advisors and students see each other as a resource; each group offering what it uniquely can provide.
