Chair - MSC Fall Leadership Conference (MSC FLC)
General Position Summary
The MSC Fall Leadership Conference Chair manages one of Texas A&M University's and the MSC's oldest and longest-running programs that are solely dedicated to the advancement of the university through student development. The Chair sets long and short-term tangible goals as well as an annual vision for the growth of the conference in their tenure. The Chair will recruit a committee to produce the conference and is responsible for their development through training and leadership growth opportunities. Additional duties include creating the conference theme, managing finances, guiding the MSC program and speaker approval process, overall project management, and fulfilling all duties required as an MSC Officer. The conference is a team effort where the Chair not only oversees but contributes tangibly to the end result. This position is a very important and impactful role on campus. It is crucial that the applicants have the passion and are willing to put in the time to help advance the university's mission.
Minimum Requirement
- One year of MSC Leadership experience or equivalent.
- Living locally to College Station during the Spring and Summer semesters.

*Times vary depending on the tasks list and time of the year. You should expect to allot more time mid-spring semester throughout the summer.
Significant changes or additional functions for this position in the upcoming year
- There are no significant changes at this time.
- Every year the new chair and advisor will meet to evaluate the needs of the conference and what structural changes may need to take place to tend to those needs. This may affect your duties, but is a decision and agreement you and your advisor will make.
Required MSC Officer Responsibilities

| Represent the MSC – Student Programs Office: As a student leader in the MSC Student Programs Office, you are a reflection of the department and our MSC Values. |
| Attend Weekly Monday Night Meetings: When creating your academic schedule, please be mindful of your requirement to attend Program Assembly meetings every Monday night at 6pm. |
| Assist with MSC Committee Alignment to Memorial Student Center: Committee Chairs have the responsibility of directing their committee’s goals and year to meet the needs of the department. |
| Complete Year: This MSC Officer position is performed from late Fall to mid Fall the next year, with the exception of some work from home during semester breaks (winter). This role is expected to work during the Summer. |
| Attend Leadership Launch: Every spring, the MSC hosts Leadership Launch in order to assist with the transition of new leaders. |
| Represent your committee at Unity Event: Unity Event is a way to bring all outgoing and incoming officers to gain an understanding and awareness of diversity in leadership. |
| Understand the Student-Staff Partnership: The MSC Student Programs Office operates under a unique 1:1 relationship between student and advisor. |
