Freshmen Leading in Acceptance, Kindness, and Equality works to help all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, to feel accepted and loved at Texas A&M.
- FLAKE informationals will be hosted and coordinated by FLAC in person on the Texas A&M Campus. Our first informational will be held on Friday, August 30th, 2024 in ILCB 111 at 6:00 p.m. The second informational will be held on Thursday, September 6th, 2024 in MSC 1400 at 6:00 p.m. These informationals are in no way mandatory, but wil serve as an opportunity to connect with the staff early, and will give you a chance to ask questions about the FLO before joining.
- Applications for ALL incoming freshmen members will be due on September 13, 2024. There will be NO late applications taken into consideration after September 13, 2024.
- After applications are due, decision emails for interviews will be sent out on Monday, September 16, 2024. When signing up for an interview, please take into consideration of any other FLO interviews and scheduling issues that may arise, and remember, interview sign ups will be due at 11:59 on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. There will be no interviews granted for anyone who attempts to schedule one after 11:59 p.m. on September 17, 2024, so please sign up as soon as you get the chance! Interviews will start on September 18, 2023 and will run through September 24, 2024. September 24, 2024 will also be the last day to pref FLO's in the order you wish to be admitted. You will not be accepted into any FLO's if you fail to pref any before 11:59 on September 24, 2024, so please make sure to pref them before then! FLO decision emails will be sent out the morning of September 27, 2024, so make sure to check your inboxes!
- Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week minimum
- General and committee meetings are required weekly while extra socials, service events, and fundraisers are an extra time commitment at the member's discretion. General meetings will be every Monday at 7:00 p.m. in Rudder 308.
- Dues will be $50 in the spring and fall this year. These dues will help cover the cost of retreats, banquets, and other miscellaneous expenses. There is a payment plan available to those who are in need.
- To remain a member of FLAKE, a minimum of a 2.0 GPA must be maintained throughout the fall/spring semesters.
