Holcombe to the Heights Clinic

A) Purpose Community service in the free clinic setting is one of the cornerstones of medical education and training. Establishing an annual wellness exam student-run clinic allows medical students to practice their clinical exam skills in a healthcare setting while serving the community. B) Goals Provide an opportunity for medical students to practice and improve their clinical skills in a primary care clinic. Students will also be exposed to underserved populations and learn strategies to overcome barriers to healthcare experienced in the patient population. Students will get to see how the social determinants of health affect both patient wellbeing and how healthcare can be provided and adjusted to meet these different demands. C) Mission Statement Our vision is to establish a cohesive partnership with Avenue 360 to provide high quality comprehensive Primary Care services and promote the health and wellness within the greater Houston community.
