Hazards and Disasters Student Association

The Hazards and Disasters Student Association seeks to provide opportunities for students of all majors to (1) learn how hazardous conditions in various sectors lead to disasters and public health/safety incidents and (2) explore how they can contribute to creating resilient and adaptable communities.

HazDis does not require formal registration for membership. To become a member, simply join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/bx3HTj28e9 for announcements and communications about activities, and attend our general meetings on Thursdays from 7 - 8 PM in Rudder 707.

Intake: Open membership Ongoing intake (year-round)

Meet on-campus only weekly

All student organizations must be open in membership unless otherwise permitted under applicable state or federal law (20 U.S.C. § 1681(a)(6)(A); 34 C.F.R. § 106.14(a) for reference) through specific University exemption.
