Position Description:
The President shall be the Chief Student Leader of ISA. The President's primary responsibility is to act as the chief student leader of the organization and the foremost representative of international students at Texas A&M. This function may be delegated, when appropriate, to other members of the Executive Committee.
- Responsible for, if deemed necessary, selecting one individual on the Executive Committee to serve as their Executive Vice President. This individual will assume the duties of the President in their absence, resignation, or inability to fulfill expected duties and assigned responsibilities.
- Responsible for the coordination of Executive Committee affairs through either personal involvement or appointment.
- Responsible for presiding over International Town Hall meetings and the Executive Committee. The President may delegate this function to other officers of the Executive Committee when appropriate. In the absence of the President, the Vice President of Outreach assumes this responsibility.
- Responsible for directing committees toward organizational goals.
- Appoint representatives to student councils, task forces, and committees as deemed necessary.
- Serve as the official liaison with the Texas A&M President, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Vice President of Student Affairs, and other University administrators, along with being the official representative to the MSC Board of Directors, the VPSA Student Leader Communication Group, and other University committees, as requested.
- Review, approve, and sign official documents as needed.
- Report directly to the primary ISA Advisor, meeting regularly with the Advisor to discuss ISA business.
