Sigma Gamma Tau

Founded: 1957
Texas A&M University (College Station, TX)

Sigma Gamma Tau is the National Aerospace Engineering Honor Society. The purpose of Sigma Gamma Tau, as stated in the preamble of the Society's national constitution, are: "to recognize and honor those individuals in the field of Aeronautics and Astronautics who have, through scholarship, integrity, and outstanding achievement, been a credit to their profession. The society seeks to foster a high standard of ethics and professional practice and create a spirit of loyalty and fellowship, particularly among students of Aerospace Engineering."

At Texas A&M University the organization is focused on giving back to those who are pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering. This is done through hosting test reviews, facilitating a mentorship program, and having different events to foster a community within the department.

All student organizations must be open in membership unless otherwise permitted under applicable state or federal law (20 U.S.C. § 1681(a)(6)(A); 34 C.F.R. § 106.14(a) for reference) through specific University exemption. Please contact SOLAD for more information related to open-membership exemption at Texas A&M University or consult the Student Organization Manual.
