Join Ratio Christi every week from 8:30-9:30 in the MSC for a weekly lecture on topics related to Christian apologetics and theology!
Transhumanists claim that science and technology will solve all of humanity’s problems. Their aim is to overcome these problems by merging ourselves with technology. By uploading our brain patterns to machines we could ultimately achieve superlongevity as disembodied posthumans. But, will the future ‘you’ still be ‘you’? We will investigate whether Transhumanism’s theory of Patternism is able to account for enduring identity. Then, we will offer an alternative philosophy of human persons.
