As a local chapter of the national organization of the Alexander Hamilton Society our purpose is stated as: "The Alexander Hamilton Society (AHS) is an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting constructive debate on basic principles and contemporary issues in foreign, economic, and national security policy." This chapter's mission is to further the goals and purpose of the national organization of the Alexander Hamilton Society through speaker events to further knowledge and discussion of foreign, economic, and national security affairs among Texas A&M students especially within the fields of international relations, public policy, history, political science and economics.

All student organizations must be open in membership unless otherwise permitted under applicable state or federal law (20 U.S.C. § 1681(a)(6)(A); 34 C.F.R. § 106.14(a) for reference) through specific University exemption.
