Texas A&M Society of European Provenance Sword-fighting
The purpose of this club is to allow students, faculty, and members of the Texas A&M University community the opportunity to learn and practice historical European martial arts (HEMA) on and off campus. The purpose of HEMA is to rigorously reconstruct, study, and practice the lost fighting systems and combat techniques of Europe recorded in historical manuscripts from the Middle Ages through the 19th century. HEMA includes fencing with a variety of weapon simulators in competitive settings and the applied study of old forms of combat through historical records.
